I wonder what your attitude to the New Year is? For some it may be about making new resolutions to live better, do better and generally be more positive. Some of you may have vivid recollections of previous New Year resolves ending in failure and frustration and have given up on such youthful ambitions.
As we begin the New Year, it's only natural to think about all the personal goals you'd like to accomplish over the next 12 months. Entering a new year is like turning the page of a book or (quite literally) starting a new chapter where new beginnings and unexpected twists await. That said how often are those promises really kept? Instead of dreaming up more lofty New Year's resolutions this January, you could try turning to God's Word for guidance instead. The Bible is filled with lots of New Year's Bible verses about love, hope, and overcoming obstacles, which might just inspire the way you want to live your life this coming year. For example, if you want to feel more content and practice gratitude for the blessings you've been given, try focussing on renewing and deepening your faith in God. Commit to saying a prayer once or twice a day and really being in the moment; go to church once a week, if you don't already; or read a passage from the Bible each morning over a cup of coffee. Even if you're already a devout follower of Jesus, try spreading his word far and wide this year whenever an opportunity presents itself. Challenge yourself to grow even closer with the Lord and see how He rewards your relationship in return. With so many New Year Bible verses on hand, you can pray for God's blessing in the month's ahead, celebrate the life you already have, and walk confidently into the New Year with a fresh perspective. Let me quote just one of those lovely promises contained in God's Word, that we can hold onto as we live through 2022..
"So then, if anyone is in Christ, that person is part of the new creation. The old things have gone away, and look, new things have arrived!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17
The Good News: Out with the old, in with the new. Christ is here to lead us into a brand new year, where we can start fresh with a brand new, positive mindset.
So as we begin our journey together through this New Year, may our eyes be opened to where the Light is shining and may we walk towards the Light, that we may look forward to better times. May we never forget or try to erase the One True Hope we have in God through Jesus Christ, who brings security and safety of being to all life, both now and always.
Every blessing to you all,
