Sunday 3rd July 11 a.m. All Together Worship
NOTE This will be Marisa's last service with us. The Archdeacon the Rev Verena Breed will be leading our service. This will be our opportunity not only to say goodbye to Marisa but also to thank her and express our sincere appreciation of all that she has done for the Mission Community during the past 6 months.
Let's hope it is au revoir rather than goodbye!
St John the Baptist Instow and St Peter's Westleigh
There will be no services at either church this week as there is the joint service at Fremington.
BELLS Thursday 30th at 2 p.m. practice at Fremington
FOR YOUR DIARY
Wednesday 29th June at 7.30 p.m.
We will be welcoming the Burts and family from South Africa. They are the missionaries that we support through Crosslinks They will be telling us about developments in Heidefeld where they live and work. Last time they visited we had a most generously supported offertory at the end of the evening. We hope the same will happen this time.
There will be a concert by THE WAYWARD WINDS QUINTET held on WEDNESDAY 29TH June at ST PETER'S CHURCH WESTLEIGH. at 7.30 p.m. They will be playing a programme of light music and classics.
Cheese and wine will be served after the concert. DONATIONS WELCOME.
Appointment of new vicar
We have held 2 meetings now regarding the appointment. The first was open to everyone and it was the meeting with Verena Breed our Archdeacon. The second was a working group with Mike Clark from Diocese who will be helping and advising us through the process.
A small group is now putting the Parish Profile together. This is to inform any applicant what we are all about in the Mission Community. We will also be writing a Person Specification, a Job Specification and also wording the advert.
Please pray for those who are heavily involved in this process, from all three Mission Community churches, as much rests on their shoulders.
And now for something completely different.
Starting on Monday a company called Garness will begin the work of repainting all the guttering and downspouts on the church together with the main front doors and repairing the boiler house door and window. So what is different? Well rather than using scaffolding they will be dangling from ropes as they will be abseilling from the roof. I am sure they won't mind if you had a look at what they were doing. They will be with us for about 3 weeks as some repairs to the roof will be required. If you fancy abseilling down from the top of the tower I am sure that could be arranged!!
Please include the following in your prayers:
David and Sarah Eagles, Bruce Bennett, June Fowler, Jane Lush and Joan Gristwood, Beryl and David Earwaker
It is important that you check with the person first before we include them on the prayer list.
